Friends of Friends Friday: Will of Godfrey Tucker, Elbert, Georgia 1827
Godfrey Tucker was born in Virginia about 1747. He received land in Elbert, Georgia for his service during the Revolutionary War and moved there with his family about 1800. He died in February 1827 and his will was probated the following month. He names only one slave, a boy named Martin, to be given to his daughter Lucy (Wall), and then her son Jesse. Lucy was the wife of Wiley Warren Wall. Both Wiley and Jesse Wall died after the Civil War.
